About IIC

DDUMC has set up an innovation cell to inculcate the spirit of Innovation & Entrepreneurship among students & faculty members and add value to national intellectual property. We are proud to have earned a 3.5-star rating from the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC)! The innovative findings often give rise to inventions, even though the research was conducted primarily to gain new knowledge. This initiative is designed for Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to systematically foster a culture of innovation and a start-up ecosystem across educational institutions in India.

IIC Objectives

The main & primary objective of IICs is to engage a large number of students, faculty & staff in various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities, comprising:

About Rankings

Awards & rankings matter to every organization; they serve as strategic assets and powerful validation of credibility & trust.  They also provide a competitive edge and help in standing out in a crowded place.  The Institution’s Innovation Council (popularly known as the IIC), established under the initiative of the Ministry of Education, provides ranks to academic institutions based on their performance to foster innovation and development of students. In the academic year 2021-22, the college received 3-star ratings from IIC, and in 2022-23, it received a 2-star rating. In the year 2023-24, IIC didn’t provide maximum ratings to any organization, with 4-star ratings the highest given nationwide. The college achieved the second highest with a commendable 3.5-star rating that highlights the effort & progress in promoting an innovation culture.
